Osteoarkeologi

Osteoarchaeological methods

The course is aimed at teaching fundamental skills in evaluating animal and human bone assemblages from archaeological sites within the framework of the Osteoarchaeology Master Programme. Special emphasis is laid on taphonomy and quantification as well as the potentials and limitations of interpreting results in various archaeological periods. For visiting students a basic knowledge of human and/or animal osteology is recommended as a key to understanding the methodological issues discussed. The course is delivered in English to those interested in the topic abroad and as a complement to “Scientific English” for local students in the master programme.
