PAG - Postdoctoral Archaeological Group

PAG is a research group for postdoc researchers that currently are positioned at the Department of Archaeology and Classical Studies at Stockholm University. One of the group’s aims is to regularly organize and initiate discussion on relevant, urgent issues and to organize theme days and workshops. The ambition is to have one or two such events per year in larger or smaller format with participants both from the department as well as invited guests. Topics discussed hitherto are: “On the Threshold: Burial Archaeology in the Twenty-first Century” (2008), “Making Sense of Things: Archaeologies of Sensory Perception” (2009) “To Tender Gender: The Pasts and Futures of Gender Research” (2010) and “Go with the Flow or Against the Grain: Processes and courses of events in archaeology and cultural history” (2011), “Possession: to own and be owned” (2012), and “Environmental Humanities” (2015). Most of the papers from these workshops were also subsequently published as edited volumes which you may find here

PAG also work towards making postdoctoral researchers visible as a group and resource, and pursuit of issues that are relevant and important to us.
